George Nakashima was the main influence towards the design and work ethics for my project. He sought to create works that captured the beauty of traditional wooden furniture whilst also bringing them into a contemporary light. He also saw the natural beauty within timber and accentuated this within his works. This mindset appealed to me greatly and I attempted to replicate this through my own work. My Asian background also played a major part within the designing of this furniture as I am proud of my culture whilst also being highly fascinated by it.
