The aim of this project was to design and construct a lazy susan using parquetry techniques to show the qualities and characteristics of a range of contrasting timbers. I decided to push myself in designing a completely curved geometrical design, avoiding any straight lines. I used a compass to get these curves as close to being the same as possible. The individual pieces were cut and shaped using the template I drew on the MDF base. I then had to adjust some components by shaping on the various sanders in order to produce the high quality fit and finish as seen in the pictures.
