The Chessboard Coffee Table was designed to be implemented in a modern day living area where families and friends are able to play chess and enjoy a coffee with company. The aim was for the design to match the overall aesthetic style of the living area. A range of joining techniques and industrial processes were used throughout the construction process. These include: haunched mortise and tenon (rails and legs), dovetail joinery (drawer), mitre joinery (tabletop), domino joining techniques (shelf and table top) and Polyurethane spray with matte finish.
