Cerebral Palsy Disability Aid: Rocking Horse 1 of 7

My brief was to design and create an assistive technology product to help improve movement and posture in those who suffer from cerebral palsy. The design should help affected body parts and encourage a person’s day-to-day movement skills such as walking, sitting and playing. The device should also adopt a level of discreetness that allows the child to feel as though they are not using a disability aid. After considering what movements are natural to a child, I thought of how when a child is a born the mother is constantly rocking the child to sooth it. The idea of creating a device that rocked became of interest to me as this could be an appealing design that relates to a child.
