American walnut, brass inlay and screws

With these tables I wanted to do as much of the work by hand using traditional methods and tools. My client wanted and 1960s style nest of tables. I had to dress the timber myself as it was rough sawn form the mill. I did a lot of this by hand with a hand plane. I jointed the edges, dimensioned the stock for the legs, and flattened the tops all with a hand plane. I cut the mortise and tenon joints by hand using a handsaw a router plane and chisel. I used a router table to create the contours on the edges, one of the only times I used a machine to create these tables.
