My client, Linda Syers, was in need of a new dining table, with seating, that could be used either in or outside depending on the weather and group she was entertaining. It needed to be able to seat 10 and be at a comfortable sitting and eating height.

Dowel was used for the main joins of the table, with dominos joining the bars underneath the seat. Screws were added in places out of sight after construction to give the piece further stability. For the inlays a router was used to carve out the exact depth needed for the pieces. Each piece of inlay was cut with a jigsaw and then thicknessed to the exact depth. Any sections the may have been higher were sanded back to be flush. The varnish is marine grade, therefore ensuring a long lasting weatherproof layer.
