The Windfall Cabinet featured meticulously crafted decorative panels, each echoing the hues and patterns of windfall leaves. These panels were more than mere adornments; they served as windows into the interconnectedness of life, bringing the quiet elegance of the forest into human habitation. Amidst the tranquillity of Yarra Bend Park, the artist embarked on capturing the essence of Australian flora. Every plant gathered—eucalyptus leaves, saltbush berries, and paper daisies—carried with it the spirit of the land, a reflection of its sun-soaked earth. Cornhusks were thoughtfully prepared to serve as a veneer, ready to absorb the vibrant colours of the landscape. Immersed in water, they awaited their transformation, soaking up the earthy tones of eucalyptus leaves and the lively essence of saltbush berries. Turmeric was also used to recreate the vibrant yellow of the paper daisies. A symphony of hues unfolded once the corn husks had dried in the summer sun.
