This sideboard was created for a client that needed some storage for a few small blankets, several TV remote controls, and wanted something on the front...just a "splash of pretty". The "vase and flower with stems" motif was created with the double bevel marquetry technique. Integrated door and drawer pulls...and completely concealed magnets keep the doors closed with a satisfying click! The right end of the sideboard rests against the wall with the front, back and left end exposed. Which means the back side has two drawers that only open partially, but still plenty of room for remote controls. Once activated with a magnetic "key", they'll open fully to reveal the secret compartments! The magnetic key lives inside the cabinet...hidden and connected to another magnet, of course!
