My furniture piece embodies the essence of Scandinavian woodworking, reflecting a culmination of skills developed and refined in Stage 6 Industrial Technology. With a focus on minimalism, it emphasizes simplicity and functionality through its use of Victorian ash that creates a warm atmosphere. The design features a neutral colour palette and high-quality craftsmanship, showcasing subtle attention to detail with joinery techniques such as sliding dovetails and mitres for the carcase and half-blind dovetails for drawers. Additionally, a sliding door, push-to-open drawers, large shadow lines, and brass accents enhance its aesthetic appeal while maintaining practicality. This piece is not just furniture; it is a testament to the beauty of functional of Scandinavian design.
