Made from different Australian hardwood timbers of Forest Redgum, Spotted Gum and Victorian Ash, my computer desk is unique in design. With inspiration coming from different well known woodworkers like Nick Pedulla and Christopher Salomone, my computer desk was designed to be a real standout in my bedroom. From the beginning of the design stage of my major work, I always wanted to somehow implement black epoxy resin into the final product, and I believe the way I have executed this couldn't have been any better, with the top consisting of 32 different pieces of Spotted Gum all connected with 10mm wide rivers of the epoxy resin, it makes the top be one of the most unique designs seen on furniture to date. To add an extra challenge and a more aesthetically pleasing aspect of design to the final build I decided to create the drawer cabinet, drawers and opposite leg all slanted 10-degrees towards the middle. On the inside of the cabinet, each drawer is joined together by dovetails and are also slanted on the 10-degree angle to match the inside of the drawer cabinet. I would like to thank all my friends, family and the staff at Lumen for supporting me in the 12 months it took me to create this piece of furniture that will be in my family for decades to come.
