For my Year 12 Industrial Technology Timber major project, I designed and constructed a bespoke TV cabinet that blends functionality with modern aesthetics. Motivated by the need to replace an outdated and undersized unit, I crafted a larger, stylish piece that fits the room's proportions and accommodates contemporary entertainment devices. Using Tasmanian oak, I incorporated advanced joinery techniques, including reinforced domino mitred joints and a frame-and-panel back, to ensure structural integrity. The project showcases meticulous craftsmanship, from the precision-cut carcase to the smooth, sanded finish. The final piece enhances the living space with its clean lines, durability, and elegant timber finish.
