The “whiskey chair” designed and made by Mike Fleming is a low occasional chair, developed to be the perfect companion for savouring your favourite whiskey. The chair is made from hydrowood Tasmanian celery top pine, a soft, almost buttery timber known for its exceptional durability and beauty. The Tasmanian oak legs have been ebonized to contrast against the blonde celery top creating an elegant and timeless aesthetic. The chair’s seat is joined to the legs using floating tenons to create a sense of weightlessness in the seat whilst being extremely strong and durable. The wide arms provide a convenient resting spot for your glass while the solid celery top pine seat and back have been hand carved and shaped to form a subtle, comfortable scoop. With the sharp angles complimenting the gently curved centre seat, the design aims to balance form and function, both style and comfort equally.
