This chest-on-stand was inspired by the work of mid-Century Italian design polymath, Gio Ponti. The overlapping circles on the drawer fronts creates a handle you can either pinch between both recesses or lazily pull open with one if leaning out of bed. The circles are echoed through the design, both in form and in the elm and maple sabbats on the legs. People say they think the piece might scuttle off at any minute, which I like, although admittedly might be annoying if you were trying to find your glasses in the middle of the night.
