This exquisite “Ming Noir” cabinet draws inspiration from elegant Ming Dynasty design, but adds a unique twist with its "frame+storage" structure. The beauty of this design lies in the seamless joining of the frame and the chest with just two screws. When assembled, the back rack of the frame fits perfectly into the gap at the back of both the top and bottom surfaces of the chest. And when necessary, the tambour doors can be easily slid out from the gap for maintenance. Inside the chest, the top shelf is perfect for storing delicate tea utensils, while the larger bottom shelf is ideal for bigger items. The smooth, rounded corners of Ming Noir not only provide a tactile sensation of comfort, but also enhance its beauty. The flowing curves of the corners create a sense of gentle movement that will captivate your eyes and soothe your senses. Crafted from Tasmanian Oak sourced from a school demolition in Melbourne, it is stained with an ebony colour and finished with Danish oil. The stop stick, delicately nestled within the groove of the top of the chest, serves as a precious point of reference to the original, natural colour of the Tasmanian Oak. The shape of each end of the stick was inspired by ancient Chinese temple roofs. With its harmonious design and pleasing aesthetics, the Ming Noir is sure to bring a touch of serenity and elegance to any space. Designed&made&photographed by @_woodway_
