Old world meets new in this custom OM-C acoustic guitar . From that first moment of connection with a new client to that moment of closure when we both see dreams being brought into reality, custom building is like a dance with the laws of nature. The master grade Spruce top was chosen for its structural integrity and sonic properties, combined with a hybrid X bracing and carbon fibre lower lattice system it’s loud, responsive and articulate. Tasmanian Blackwood adorns the soundhole rosette which is inlayed with blue abalone as are the ebony bridge pins, and a cat’s paw sound port projects sound directly up to the player. Neck to body is joined at the 12th fret with upper frets easily accessed via the Florentine cutaway. The 7 piece neck is made of Qld walnut, Qld maple and Crows ash and is removable for future maintenance using a bolt on mortise and Tenon joint. Under the Honduran rosewood fret board and straddling a double action truss rod are two carbon fibre rods housed into the neck, these add stiffness and prevent the neck from twisting. Tiger Myrtle on the back, sides and headstock, is a joy to work with and one can easily become lost in the beauty of its highly figured features much like the landscapes from which it came. This guitar has been preserved with hardened shellac on the sound board and neck and varnish on the back, sides and headstock overlays.
