This is my Tambour drinks cabinet I completed for my HSC major work, inspired by 80s furniture and combining aesthetic and simplicity, made out of a Tasmanian blackwood veneer showcasing the versatility and uniqueness of plywood veneer. It combines the complex process of a tambour and woodturning with the simplicity of a mitre joint and chamfer contrasting on a glass shelf and a dovetailed drawer, with carved door pulls. It's finished with hard wax oil complementing the wood and bringing out the deep colour of the veneer.
