This piece represents the path taken to reach a state of equilibrium, a point where the abstract takes shape and art takes precedence over functionality. Its different textures show the passage from raw and organic matter to a better defined point, more neat and elegant. Only recycled wood from a furniture workshop was used for its manufacture. Oak, Padouk and skateboard were the main components of this piece, which had to be worked with precision to follow an elaborate method of assembly and subsequent sculpting. The initial model corresponds to a prototype made in plaster by the Chilean designer Abel Càrcamo, which I have subsequently worked on and adapted according to the materials available in the workshop. The finish of the piece is in beeswax, a product chosen for its natural origin and for the quality of the shine it gives. I am Joaquín Zuñiga, engineer and furniture maker who presents this piece made in July 2022, in France, my country of residence since 2016.
