A blackheart sassafras and golden sassafras box 280mm wide c 175mm deep x 110mm high. The design is to create something pleasing to the eye while camouflaging the workings of the box. The two drawers are incorporated into the design to make them look like the continuation of the panels keeping the streamline aspect of the work. The lid is self supporting when open without the use of stays . The beads are slightly curved at the longest sides to act as handles for the drawers . Both the dark and light timber on the top have the grain water falling down each end creating a flowing grain
