The project is my year 12 major work being a study desk it is made of top of the line quality Tasmanian Blackwood with a contrasting Tasmanian Oak white timber inlay around the top to make it pop to the viewers eye and to highlight the drawer fronts. The contemporary design has inspired me to incorporate a series of support pieces around the timber that are using straight lines in different patterns and getting creative with basic shapes on the timber. A drawer based pattern was constructed based off inspiration from cutting board designs using a range of tasmanian blackwood, Tasmanian Oak, and Jarrah which were all scrap timber from myself and other students and I put to use in my design
