Rebecca started sculpting wood at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, needing something to keep her idle hands busy. Her style is informed by her painting and translating that to wood is something she is constantly experimenting with . The Storm Coffee Table is sculpted from salvaged pine from the Waratah area and finished with Danish oil. The fluid form speaks to what Rebecca enjoys most out of woodworking, which is creating a soft textural form out of a hard material. The glass panel as the table top, mirrors the pieces fluidity and almost acts as a submarine floor to the carvings underneath.
