This round side table, with 60cm in diameter and 2.5cm in thickness, is made of several Iroko boards glued up together reinforced with biscuit joints. It represents the solar system, with the sun (lamp), planets and its orbits. The orbits where sligthly grooved in circles, and the planets are positioned according to a specific date (in this case, when the planet Pluto was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh in 18-02-1930). The legs are 16cm tall, and are made using the remaining wood from the square in which the circle was cut. They are fitted and glued into the bottom of the table by a squared mortise. To finish up, bee wax is applied.
