The Slip Vitrines are designed as gallery showcases. Hand cut Southern Mahogany veneers were selected as a local indigenous species, laid up on a narrow curved torsion box, giving the piece its super fine section and delicate appearance. The design concept is to present the intersection of the inner radius and flat outer surface to a knife-edge, giving the work and almost impossible 'floating' appearance. The refined subtlety of the form contrasts with the highly featured Australian hardwood. The vitrine is polished, oil finished and has the option for display with or without a lockable hood. The 'Slip' is designed to be a universal concept, allowing for fabrication as benches, side tables or dining tables. Images show the vitrines in use displaying precious aboriginal artefacts for the 'Spirit of Place' exhibition by Wonnarua elder Uncle Warren Taggart.
