Sideboard in Queensland Maple (150cm wide, 46cm deep, 90cm High). Built as a commission for my wife to remove the kids homework and craft equipment from our dining table! Mid century inspired, the piece is designed for function with sliding doors to minimise depth and solid timber for strength. Cabinet carcass is made from solid maple which is resawn and bookmatched from a single, very large board. Sliding doors with figured maple panels and hand cut half blind dovetail drawers with Silver Ash drawer sides and Bendee handles. Cabinet interlocks into the base which is of wedged through mortice and tenon construction. Finished externally with Danish oil and all internal surfaces are waxed for protection.
