This European walnut sideboard is freely inspired by Egon Schiele's painting Four Trees. Highlighting the material is at the heart of this work. Combining walnut and polished copper was an obvious choice to recreate Schiele's color palette. This piece of furniture balances between an homage to Egon Schiele and modern furniture. It attempts to create something new by drawing on the "unfulfilled time" of Expressionism. So, upon discovering this twisted walnut, offering its intimate lines to the view, the obviousness of the landscape, such a rare theme in Egon Schiele's painting, emerged. In the doldrums of history, the sudden calm of an autumn landscape. The light of a sunset becomes what it is again, a moment of beauty. This piece was created for a friend, Gergely Déli, a theorist of a legal theory based in Ethics.
