I designed and built this table using rescued timber and recycled steel. The timber was going to be burnt on a rural property until I salvaged it and gave it new life. The centrepiece of the table was naturally carved by whiteants. The steel came from a demolished building site that I cleaned using a grinder and then painted with a rustoleum product, which is a four-part process giving it a rusted look, with a final seal coat. The timber was dressed and left with all its natural holes and grooves to give it an authentic rustic look. The timber panels were laid in a unique pattern designed by me to create a beautiful tabletop, which was finished with a single-pack polyurethane.
