This study desk was designed and constructed from western Australian hardwood Jarrah milled in 1918 for the construction of the local cool stores in that year. The design came from viewing the beautiful colours, grain, shape and textures of a piece of Western Sheoak (Allocasuarina fraseriana ) reclaimed from the forrest floor after bushfire which brings out the deep warm colours you see. The the actual mangle and support stands were created from recycled cogs and wheels and rollers from Jarrah, after the main frame were laser cut and embellished with hand forged scrollwork.
