Rococo—inspired by the flamboyant and bold dressmaking of the 18th century. The pedestal leg design dances to its own tune, featuring a veneered detail unique to my portfolio. This technique, typically called intarsia, involves overlapping wood and is rarely seen applied to a piece of this size. Using the traditional hammer veneering technique and hide glue, I achieved crisp edges and precise lines. The gown-like base gracefully falls to the floor, terminating in a subtle shadow gap that gives the entire piece a floating feel. “Dance me to the end of love” – Leonard Cohen.
