Inspired by a trip to the islands, I sought to create something both energetic and geometric, yet reminiscent of fond memories of the Pacific. The result is Revolve—a vanity built with movement in mind. Crafted from locally sourced walnut, the baskets are shaped using a steam-bending technique, where the timber is heated and bent into form. This method creates a piece that is light, intricate, and incredibly strong, with an exquisite play of light filtering through. Walnut dowels are used at every junction between the whorls and upright staves, adding a subtle and repeated joinery detail. The top is shaped to accentuate the natural curves of the crystal basins.
