During the setting up of my current workshop, a few pine beams were left from a mezzanine I made. I've been using them for the workshop furniture, jigs, models, etc. On the first aniversary after moving to the workshop, I wanted to make something special to pay a tribute to that pine that so well served me during the last year. This pair of jewelry boxes are the result. The best radial cuts were selected and knots discarded for the inner trays, , while the outer side of the carcass is decorated with two different parquetry patterns. Both made out of pine veneer. The black details are in ebony (from previous projects offcuts) and the orange ones in acajou or african mahogany (from a slab that a colleague gave me a few years ago).
