Reflection record cabinet was designed and made with all veneer cut and laid in a mirrored (book matched) orientation. Inspired by mid-century designs this cabinet was an exercise in proportions, placement and balance. Another design restraint was the only material I could use was left over from my time at Sturt School for Wood 2020. It was also a good opportunity to gain confidence in certain aspects of my job including veneering and polishing. American walnut, walnut burr, macassar ebony, birch and blackened brass were the materials used. Sprayed in 30% 2 pax lacquer.
