David Rauenbusch , Pear Ladle (ART, OBJECTS 2021)

I have carved this ladle from a bent limb section of a 120 year old pear tree. The ladle has been carved from green wood with use of traditional hand tools only. Carving axe, gouge, hook knife and sloyd knife. No power tools, just sharp edged tools with no sandpaper. Knife finished. The handle has some chip carving and kolrosing using cinnamon as the stain. A functional work of art.
