Charlie Jewkes, Outdoor Dining Table (TABLES, CHAIRS, DESKS 2021 )

Having built a new deck I thought a nice New Guinea Rosewood outdoor table would make a good addition. I decided to not do a solid top, as it is exposed to rain a bit. As the project developed I raelised the M&T joints would be worked pretty hard as the table was picked up and moved around for BBQs etc, so decided to make some Ebony dowels to pin the joints for extra strength. The top glue-up was a bit stressful - will definitely use a slower set glue next time! Anyway it's come up lovely, and 6 months in is standing up well. I had enough rosewood leftover to make two matching side tables as well. It's not particularly 'fine' furniture but I like the clean lines and the simple design.
