My woodworking journey has gradually moved from the rectilinear to more organic forms. In addition, I enjoy using colour and different materials to interplay with the wood. Add a touch if play and by now I'm deeply engaged in flow. In playful mood I created offset curves on this Huon pine box, then coloured the edges in relief. Because the relief was both inside and outside the box I wished the inside to be visible even with the lid on. Using acrylic sheet I created curved layers to compliment the curved box sides. Each outside plane is unique as is each inside plane and combined with the lid being placed in 4 separate positions, at 90, 180, and 360 degrees, the box can be presented in 64 unique positions. The stainles steel studs ensure a tight fit for the lid. Size overall is 230mm square and 220 high
