L9200 x 5500 (1100) X 740mm. Crafted from Victorian Blackwood. Created using a combination of digital production and traditional furniture making. Design intent- To create a visually light form that reflected the beautiful, waterfront location at Elizabeth Quay. Hundreds of solid timber fins line the internal perimeter of the table creating a striking wave like form. Every process was strictly controlled and executed in house from the 3D modelling, programming, digital templating and digital milling of the complex solid timber elements. To hand selecting, stitching and pressing the veneers. The entire perimeter of the top had a 2mm solid lipping inlayed under the veneer. This allowed a micro V groove detail to be machined between the border rails and the top panels without cutting into the substrate. The table was designed to break down into smaller sections that fitted within the buildings internal lifts. It was also assessed against strict human factors guidelines pertaining to minimum spacing per seat, leg room, knee clearances, comfortable reach to power and data points and clear line of sight to monitors and screens. Integrated power and data are run seamlessly through the table with each of the 23 seats having access to 100w USB-C charging.
