Eric Dillon , Olive Wood Guitar (STUDENT 2021)

This guitar features a solid olive wood body, with natural edge on the top corner, a copper pick guard with a patina, along with gold hardware. The shape of the guitar is a custom design and includes unique curves and cut-outs. The olive wood is rare and unique as it is very hard to find pieces without cracks which are large enough for a guitar. The design process included many sketches and a prototype made from pine. Being my first guitar, the prototype allowed for dozens of small issues to be ironed out. The guitar took a little under a year to make and has been one of the most challenging and most enjoyable projects that I have done.
