I made this seat from local oak milled on site in Hahei. The wood was air dried at my workshop. The quarter sawn oak displays some beautiful figure, which has influenced the final design and flow of the piece. I’ve used Kauri for the rail to connect the legs and support the seat, offering a simpler contrast. Joinery is mortice and tenon and through wedged tenon.
