Hand carved chess set with constructed chess board and container - the chess pieces were carved during the pandemic (from the fall of 2020 to the spring of 2021) from reclaimed pine and redwood in times when I didn't always have access to my studio/shop. The name comes from having worked on them during moonlit fires in the backyards of dear friends. The board/container was made in 2021 from reclaimed plywood, redwood, maple and poplar as well as reclaimed screws/hardware. The finish is milk paint, watercolor and lacquer/wax.
