Lindsay Ikin, Model Car Cabinet (Furniture)
I have had these model Chev cars for about twenty years, and a few months ago decided to make a display cabinet for them. My first car was a 1936 Chev Roadster and I decided to buy the full set of models from the Franklin Mint. The unit is made from recycled wood, and the frame from jarrah fence palings. The upper front, top, and the base sections, are from ash fiddleback fence posts, all with jarrah borders. It is mirror backed, with glass shelves, and has real antique door handles. The model types are printed on labels cut to size, and stuck on very small quad. All wood was finished with 1200 grit paper, and has two coats of China wood oil.
