The Spitfire lounge chairs are inspired by the Mk V & Mk Vb. Spitfires which were used by the RAF to defend Britain during WW2. The backrest is mainly based on the Mark V's clipped wings which were introduced to improve its manoeuvrability. The Spitfire Mk. Vb lounge chair is the carbon negative variant of the chair series. It is made from fumed English oak and a hand woven paper cord seat. The chair features hand carved arm rests, a single piece, steam bent back rest as well as a VOC free wax oil finish which is unique to this chair.
