Deceptively simple – a mid-century modern credenza contrived from intricacy yet masked by simplicity. In an attempt to individualise and revitalise ‘Life Interior’s’ 2019 Tully Bookcase’, such ambitions are accomplished through the symbiotic relationship of the tambour doors and brass embellishment inlays. Housing a range of storage solutions, whether it be the precise CNC open shelves, machined dovetail drawer, or deep storage spaces concealed by the sliding tambour, the timeless and minimalist approach ensures synchronicity across all facets of the job. Although marginal compared to the the project, upon further inspection, the ostentatious leg assembly fosters an effortless sense of approbation for finer details and motor skills. A sixty man-hour assembly, governed by a range of intricate joinery techniques to cumulatively form seamless rail-to-leg intersections, further emphasises the deceptively simple project brief. Completing the project with consummate elegance, a range of allied materials, both polished brass and corian stone, feature as pole and leg ferrules, open shelf wedges and dual material handles. Collectively, these interdisciplinary design elements holistically convey a unique, seamless and modernist fine piece of furniture.
