These Matching Bedsides were designed with love for my Dad and step mum to fit in their bedroom. The open top space gives access to the plugs in their wall becoming a nice semi hidden space to charge phones and store books, the two drawers with half blind dovetails for a decent amount of storage ,the smaller drawer for items like watches & jewellery. The walnut drawer fronts made the dark space of the open shelf at top look more harmonious. The Design is simple, referencing mid century and modern furniture with a classic and timeless twist - interesting patterns of the quarter sawn grain of the oak that wraps around, visible tenons and dovetails from the sides & top, hand shaped legs with curved middle rails to bring light to it being a handmade piece. I made it in solid wood for this reason- to include visible joinery and so it could be well used and withstand daily use and be refinished if needed in the future. Using french oak to match the other furniture and fittings in the house as well as their front door i built for them years ago. Designed to last forever and stay in the family for generations as well as be able to be used in different settings if ever needed, not just as a bedside (being a free standing cabinet with removable legs allows for flexibility). Material: Solid French oak, Walnut drawers with machined and hand carved pulls, Kauri draw bottoms.
