Heath Chappell, ‘Marrambidya’ (Murrumbidgee River) Entertainment Unit (STUDENT 2021)
The "Marrambidya" Entertainment unit takes it name from the local Wiradjuri name for Murrumbidgee. The unit pays homage to the creator’s upbringing in the local area where the Murrumbidgee River flows freely through the local community. The unit was designed to create memories and a feeling of home wherever the designer may be. This unit incorporates the various shades of Victorian Ash timber with an Epoxy replica Murrumbidgee River flowing through the top section. The unit also incorporates Tambour Doors and interconnected Chevron designed cupboard and drawer doors to create a striking visual effect. The unit has also been designed to incorporate water bent laminated arms to create the feeling of the river almost floating above the unit as they support it in position.
