While I was a Wingate ITE fellow at the Museum of Art in Wood, Philadelphia, USA, in 2016, I asked myself the simple question, “What kind of wood bending can I do on a tablesaw?” That was when I first explored kerf bending techniques, and they have significantly influenced my work ever since.
We mostly see the application of kerf bending in structural work, furniture making, and instrument making, but only sometimes as an art piece. In this series of works, I would like to challenge the audience's perception of the endless possibility of kerf bending by using a tablesaw to create delicate and fine-detailed works. This series is made out of ebonized cherry, teak, and ash. Dimension : 760 x 180 x 65 mm
