Carved from linden wood by Glenn O’Rourke aka Svenn the Puppetsmith, Lord Linden of GlennWood is a uniquely designed and handcrafted marionette puppet. The combination of skilled craftsmanship and artistic expression brings to life the beauty of the grain and texture of the wood, to magically reveal the unique character and personality of Lord Linden. Lord Linden is a true example of preserving the centuries old heritage and tradition of puppetry, that pushes the boundaries of craftsmanship and creativity to transform a simple block of wood into a marionette full of character, life and dynamic movement. Beginning with a simple sketch and a wonderful vision of Lord Linden, the transformation was achieved with skill, passion and the mastery of the woodcarver by hand, knife and chisel. The carving requiring fineness of detail, accuracy and expressive sculpting. Once carved, the puppet’s personality and unique character was further defined and expressed by its brightly coloured and sparkling hand painted finish. Lord Linden has a unique power…that brings a happy smile and a laugh, regardless of age, to all who have the wonderful opportunity to meet him. The magic of a hand carved puppet releases in everyone a special happiness.
