Light chair is an investigation into subtracting material without compromising strength and function. Inspired by the vernacular form of traditional stick chairs and the experimentation of Gio Ponti’s Superleggera chair. The lightweight chair has been designed to create a sensorial experience. Sitting on the chair a cool breeze surrounds the body. Laminations form the backrest, bent to hug the back body. Router and hand shaped dowels follow the curve of the seat rail, inviting users to interact through touch.
