Kumiko cabinet is a Japanese-inspired hi-fi cabinet. It features a kerf bent-laminated carcase made out of American walnut, inspired by origami work. The cabinet is topped by two see-through doors made using the traditional kumiko technique. The unit is topped by two discreet ebonized curved legs. The aesthetics of this piece were imagined and tested during an artist residency led by Michael Fortune and Lou Fuller in January 2024. Making took place from January to July 2024. American walnut, American hard maple, MDF 900x540x550mm
