Jewelry box in Wengé and Shagreen. The box is conical, the sides tilt 1.5 degrees. There are wooden hinges. Inside there is a small tray that can be moved from side to side. The Stingray skin is not tanned but air-dried, the way the old masters used it. The surface treatment is an amber/linseed oil varnish, an old 17th century recipe.
