Bryan Cush, Jax Console (TABLES, CHAIRS, DESKS 2021 )

Jax is a hallway console table consisting of a Victorian Ash frame supporting a kinked, folded, Spotted Gum tabletop. The piece features a lower slatted storage shelf supported on a trio of Vic Ash rails which are fixed to the main frame using through tenon joinery. There is also a soft-close ‘stash’ drawer concealed within the frame designed to hide keys, wallets or other valuables. The ‘kinked’ element of the form is designed to create a plant shelf or a ledge to sit on whilst removing or putting on shoes.
