The Harmony Cabinet was designed and built from Tasmanian Blackwood with multipurpose storage in mind. Display shelves on top for books or vinyls, open shelving and two large drawers, thoughtfully crafted with hand cut, half-blind dovetails. The drawer fronts were selected from one beautiful board that was book matched with continuous grain for a harmonious flow across the front. Drawer sides and back are from Tasmanian Oak. The name “Harmony Cabinet” comes from the experience of creating this, which was the first major piece made in my new studio workshop in Northern NSW. Working through many processes for the first time in a new workshop and creating a harmonious workflow was a process that was challenging yet very rewarding.
