This golf bedside table is a design attempt to marry angular geometric shapes with softer curves. This piece features a solid oak carcase assembled with half mitred dovetails. It is topped by four curved legs inspired by 18th-century French feet, reinforced by a few curved lacquered pieces. The cabinet is completed by a traditional ash drawer assembled with dovetails as well as a textured lacquered European beech front. The front and leg reinforcements have been lacquered in light blue to bring lightness and colour to the piece. This piece of furniture was designed on the advice of Brian Reid during one of his many visits to New Zealand. It was built between November 2023 and July 2024.
